BFYMCA HIKING CLUB

Completed Hikes:

The Hiking calendar has been completed for 2010 ...

So here we go again! Time to get moving again - the mild winter is gone and winter-like spring is upon us, so the Bremerton Family YMCA hikes are gearing up for another season. Click here for the schedule.

If you want notification by email of the schedule or any future hikes, please email your contact information to hiking@kitsapfamilyymca.org.

Facility Hours:

Monday-Friday
5:15 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Saturday
8:00 a.m.- 9:00 p.m.

Sunday
12:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Beginning/Novice Hikes:

These will be "Easy" to "Moderate" hikes for novice and beginner hikers, such as the valley between Green Mountain and Gold Mountain, or other terrain in the area.

The Green/Gold Mtn hike route will take you on one of the lesser known trails past waterfalls, ponds and an old mine. The Elwha River hike covers some of the Olympic Peninsula's prettiest scenery.

The plan is to send out an e mail to all those on the e-mail list one week prior to the hike. Please check your e-mails on Friday before the hike, in case we need to cancel because of bad weather.

Look for the 2010 Hiking Calendar for other Easy or Moderate hikes next spring.

Guided Expert Hikes:

These hikes are for the experienced hiker and are guided by Glen or other qualified guides. Plan to make a whole day of it, as the hikes are typically in the Olympics or Cascades and take a long car trip to reach the trailhead. Not for the faint of heart or weak of leg, as they are difficult in both length and altitude rise. Look for the new 2010 Hiking Calendar for the the "Hard" hikes in the Spring.
