Forces Parade, still the largest and longest
running parade in the US - a must see
event!

The events begin in April
with the Ambassadors Program with local High schools
and run through May 23rd with the Hydroplane races.
Events include a Culinary Cook-Off; the Navy League
Gala; the Parade; Pancake breakfasts; and the free
Heroes BBQ. This is not just your ho-hum little town
parade - this is a BIG DEAL!

Military
Date Night -
First Saturday of each Month, 5:30 to 9:30 pm
Take a
break from the kids and enjoy yourselves, with the help of
the Kitsap Armed Services YMCA Military Date Night Program.
Bring the little ones in - as young as 4 weeks will be
accepted - for only $3.50 per hour per child, for up to four
hours on the first Saturday evening of each month. Once
parents have dropped off the kids, they can go have fun - see a
movie, have dinner or just kick back and relax in the peace
and quiet. (Prepaid punch cards are available for only $30
for ten hours.)
Military Drop-In Preschool
Monday through Friday,
12:15-3:15 p.m.
For
Active Military families with children who are
two-and-a-half to five years old,
whether they are Members
of the Y or not,
their children can be
dropped off at the YMCA Annex to take part in the
scheduled early-learning activities so you can get
other things done during that time.
Preschool Curriculum:
**We keep this curriculum flexible and since we are a "drop-in" Program, we
are incorporating and releasing children throughout the afternoon. For
these reasons, we need to be flexible in our day so that we can
accommodate whatever the day throws at us. and still be able to keep on
offering you and superior Program.

Costs:
MILITARY
NON-MEMBERS: $5/hour/child
YMCA MEMBER: $4/hour/child
For the families of
active duty military, whether they are Members of
the Y or not, and Y Members, the Drop In
Preschool is on a first
come/first served basis - No reservation needed. A
Registration card needs to be completed on first
visit.
Potty
trained preferred but not essential Three hours per
day is the total time the child may be with us per
day whether in the Childwatch (for members use while
in the Y), the preschool, or the Toddler Classes.

Special Rates for Active Military and Families -
The Kitsap Armed
Services YMCA waives the joining fee for all active
military individuals or families that wish to join
the Y. In addition, reduced monthly rates are
offered for all ranks E-7 and below. (E-8 and above
would pay
regular membership rates, but still no joining
fee.)

Appreciation Day
Kitsap Sun Pavilion at Fairgrounds
A Big Success in
March - Info on 2011 date available later
This interactive event is
designed to show appreciation for the men and women
of our armed services; Active Duty, National Guard,
Reservists, plus retirees, and their families.
Visit displays
and information booths providing information and a
glimpse into the duties performed by area service
members. Vendors representing nearly 150 area
businesses, social services organizations, and
service groups will be on hand providing
in-formation and discounts to service members.
Terrific door
prizes will be awarded through-out the day in
appreciation and a "Mini boot-camp" is held for kids
kindergarten through 8th grade.
