Hop Skip & Jump into Summer!

Youth Fitness Training - New Program!

Previously, youth in the age range from 11-15 were not allowed in the weight room or upstairs for use of the cardio equipment. Starting in mid-April, a new Youth Fitness Training Program has been started to train and "certify" youth to use the weight room and cardio equipment. Click here for more information.

YMCA Swim Lessons - for Children & Adults

see the Pool & Lessons Schedule for more information.

ATTENTION!     Volunteers needed:

The YMCA Selective Swim Program for special needs children is in need of volunteers, especially in-pool swim training and male volunteers to assist the male children through the locker room dressing and undressing; and showers before and after the pool. It is expected that more than 100 children will be in the program beginning in October and more volunteers are needed!

This program is 45 years old at the Y and has helped thousands of special needs children over the years. They get much needed swim lessons and recreational swimming, but also get to participate in the Special Olympics during the summer.

Training is necessary to prepare for the duties and qualified volunteers may also help with the swim training. This Program is supported by United Way and other grant funding sources. Selective Swim hours are Friday mornings from 9 am to 12 noon, at the City of Bremerton Jarstad Aquatic Center. Contact Chriss K. at 473-5376 to apply.
