ATTENTION!     Volunteers Urgently Needed:

The YMCA Selective Swim Program for special needs children is in need of volunteers, especially in-pool swim training and male volunteers to assist the male children through the locker room dressing and undressing; and showers before and after the pool. It is expected that more than 80 children will be in the program beginning in October and more volunteers are needed!

This program is 50 years old at the Y and has helped thousands of special needs children over the years. They get much needed swim lessons and recreational swimming, but also get to participate in the Special Olympics during the summer.

Training is necessary to prepare for the duties and qualified volunteers may also help with the swim training. This Program is supported by United Way and other grant funding sources. Selective Swim hours are Friday mornings from 9 am to 12 noon, at the City of Bremerton Jarstad Aquatic Center. Contact the Y at 377-3741 to apply.
